Football (Soccer) - a steep learning curve!

I really can not imagine what I was thinking when I took on my new Lessons in Love Series. The first one was fine because it was about cooking, a subject I have always enjoyed and had great fun writing, but football? Book two is about a girl who takes up football for the sake of a boy and ends up loving the sport. Well, I confess to being a bit of a rugby scrummy, but in England football might be a national sport, yet I know almost nothing about it. I ended up having to watch several games (yawn) and read a book or two (even bigger yawn) just to write about it convincingly, which was fine actually, but next - tennis! Uh oh! Book Three in this series is about tennis, and I've just realised I know even less about the rules of tennis than I do about football! What on earth was I thinking?
Oh well... next thing to do research-wise: watch some tennis (the hardship) and see if I can get Andy Murray's phone number for a little chat  ;-) I think I might have taken on a bit more than I intended!
